FACTS AND FIGURES
The Chinijo Archipelago is made up of five islands and covers an area of 192 square km (74 square miles). It is an area of natural beauty and was declared a Natural Park in 1986. In 1995, the area and surrounding waters were classified as a Marine Reserve, covering an area of 700 square km (270 square miles) making it the largest in Europe. The only inhabited island is Graciosa, with about 700 permanent residents.
